There is a huge personal cost to anyone facing loneliness. This personal cost may then extend to the personal cost to family and friends. These personal costs may have associated financial costs for the lonely, and their family and friends. And further out, there is the financial cost to employers, to the community, to the health system and, more generally, to the economy. In this page we focus on the financial costs of loneliness.
